As part of our Chapter Commitment to support USAFA, we have sponsored the Outstanding Boxer Award for five years.  What does this mean?  The Rampart Chapter pays $700 per year to defray the costs associated with the Award, and a Chapter representative attends and presents the Award during the Annual Individual Awards Ceremony after the Awards Parade during “June Week”.  The presenters of the plethora of other Individual Awards include The Superintendent, The Commandant, The Dean, The Athletic Director, USAA, Flying Tigers, American Aces, AFA, and a Who’s Who of the AF, and Shakers and Movers.  This is an excellent opportunity for the Rampart Chapter to be a part of USAFA ceremonies, heritage, and to gain recognition.  We have two options to fund the Award – one continue to pay $700 per year, or pay a one time amount of $10,000 to endow the Award in perpetuity.  In the long run, it is cheaper to go for the “in perpetuity” option.

We are currently embarking on a mission to raise enough money by November 2010 to endow the Award in perpetuity, rather than fund it annually.
