Subject: Airport Info and Welcoming Booth POC Alternate

For those of you who might not know, we, Rampart Chapter, have for about 20 years staffed a welcome and info booth at the airport to assist appointees and their parents upon their arrival. I have done the coordination and setup each year, with the exception of one year, and have spent the entire day at the airport. I am assisted by other greeters who come in and serve a two hour shift from 1000 to 2200+(depending on flight delays).

I think this service is well worth our time, but I’m to the point where I think we’d better have a back up. So, I’m asking the board to please recruit someone to understudy next year so they can take over if I can’t do it.

It does not take a lot of time and most is done on the phone – Apr, May, Jun get article to newsletter soliciting greeters to assist, May contact airport to reserve space and contact AOG to remind them of what we need, week or two before class arrival coordinate with airport for parking for greeters, inform greeters, get arrival schedule from AOG, on arrival day pickup materials from AOG, go to airport, setup booth.
